Intricate Lipstick Carvings Of Powerful Women

We’ve seen miniature sculptures carved out of crayons and pencil-tips, and we’re pleased to see that Hong Kong artist May Sum has attempted the craft on a woman’s necessity—lipsticks.

Lipsticks come in various widths, hues and containers, and she plays with these features to create remarkable sculptures of scenery, animals, and most notably, a series of famous women titled ‘Woman Power’.

Sum also takes custom orders—just send her a photograph and she can make a miniature sculpture in its likeness.
